Family Life

The vocation of marriage, and subsequent building of a family, is truly one that is both fulfilling and challenging in today’s world. These ministries provide support for parishioners in all stages of the journey. Whether it is a new family with young children who need someone to care for their young children while they attend Mass or a couple who is wants to put the spiritual and emotional spark back in their marriage, these groups provide a chance to come together with other St. Mary’s parishioners and focus on family life.

Marriage Encounter

Marriage Encounter activities are designed to help couples deepen the joy and beauty of their marriage. The initial activity for couples is participation in a Marriage Encounter Weekend -- a time for them to get away from the distractions of the world to renew the "spark" in their relationship. After that, there are a variety of follow-up activities during the year.

Natural Family Planning

Our mission is to provide Natural Family Planning instruction to all interested men and women. We want to share our view that abstinence (at the right time) is a normal and responsible part of marriage that can deepen the marital relationship while it performs the important function of helping plan pregnancies. A free orientation is given once each month and interested couples return for follow-up instruction throughout the next 4-5 months. We also provide assistance for those couples having difficulty achieving pregancy.

Retrouvaille

The members of Retrouvaille International, are united in the belief that the Sacrament of Marriage deserves an opportunity and has a God given right to survive in a society that does little to support marriages.

We believe that the presence of God can make a difference in any marriage and that a reconciled marriage is preferable to divorce. We welcome all who wish to join us in this ministry, and will work and pray together to help alleviate the pain and begin the healing process in the marriages that come to Retrouvaille for help. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we will use our talents and gifts to promote and spread the healing ministry of Retrouvaille.

Women's Group

The purpose of this group is to provide a social setting that gives women the opportunity to gather with other women in the parish with the intention of encouraging camaraderie and a feeling of connectedness, thus enlarging and strengthening the Body of Christ among St. Mary's women.

The group meets on the third Wednesday of every month (except July and August) for a luncheon in Seelos Hall. Speakers and programs of interest are presented several times throughout the year. An evening Wine and Cheese Party is held two to three times a year to enable participation for those unable to attend daytime activities.
